Myanmar Response - 20 Days Later

YANGON, Myanmar (CNN) — U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon met with Myanmar’s prime minister Thursday and toured the cyclone-ravaged Irrawaddy Delta by helicopter.

On Friday, he plans to talk with the country’s leader, Senior Gen. Than Shwe, to push him to accept international aid.

Myanmar’s leaders have been slow to allow foreign aid in the country. Cyclone Nargis which hit the country in early May claimed more than 130,000 lives and left more than 2 million homeless.
